New Years Eve Styles!

With 2013 just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to play dress up for a day and style a few jewellery combinations that you could ring in the New Year with! This entry will help to exhibit how you can mix different jewellery collections together to achieve a fantastic party outfit! With the wonderful help from Sophie at the local Westboro boutique Viens Avec Moi, I was able to dress our model Becky in a few different styles provided by them and adorn her in fabulous combinations of designer jewellery from our Magpie Westboro location.

The first combination includes the creative work of Anne Marie Chagnon‘s beautiful statement necklace and ring. The soft golds and reds in the necklace really pop out against the black tank. Chagnon’s pieces work well with Lissa Bowie’s Mushy gold stud earrings and Anne Sportun’s wrap bracelets that tie into the colour scheme.

In this second outfit, I dressed Becky in a charcoal romper and then paired Alexis Bittar’s Rhodium Teatro Moderne Link drop necklace with Kara Ross studs that add some sparkle! Her hands were then embellished with a Kara Ross Black Sapphire bracelet and the Georg Jensen Moonlight Blossom ring.

In this third outfit, this rich blue cocktail dress displays a majestic Gerard Yosca black stone necklace that is paired nicely with his black stone and crystal drop earrings. I then matched those pieces with a Lissa Bowie green and gold statement ring that pops out of the blue and black colour scheme.

Staff Favourites Featuring Jackie!

Introducing The Kara Ross Collection!

We are ecstatic to announce the new Kara Ross Gemstone Collection available exclusively at our Westboro location! Jackie, our buyer and in-house gemologist, had accompanied Erin to The Couture Jewellery Show in Vegas this summer where they were both captivated by her pieces. Jackie explained that through Ross’ use of colour and geometric shapes, she was able to transform the chunkiness and vibrant colours of fashion jewellery into the elegant style of fine jewellery. They were further intrigued by Ross’ work because it was nothing like what we had ever had on our shelves!
After the Gemstone Collection’s debut in Fall 2010, the line has been recognized for its “bold and unique” use of exotic gemstones and the pieces have been featured internationally in Vogue, Haper’s Bazaar, W, and Elle Magazine. President Obama and the First Lady have even commissioned her to create exclusive pieces for themselves and other heads of state!

Best Wishes: Custom Vintage Inspired Engagement Ring

We would like to congratulate Trystan and Vanessa on their recent engagement! We had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple on the design and creation of their custom vintage inspired engagement ring. The ring was hand made here in Ottawa using diamonds from an old family broach.
